Freestanding Ceiling Drapery?

Brittany , on March 3, 2018 at 9:51 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9
So I found a venue that I love except the ballroom is a little bit plainer than I would like. The outside completely makes up for it but I’m trying to think of ways to dress up the ballroom. I can’t attach anything to the walls or ceilings! There also isn’t anything to drape it over like wood beams or anything. I’m hoping to find some sort of free standing contraption? If I got some pvc pipe or something and created a grid that would fit inside the ballroom I could hang the drapery off of that... but that seems complicated. Surely someone else has beat me to a solution?! Any ideas? Where could I rent something like this...

Hm..... I know there are decor places out there that specialize in weddings. I feel like I've seen things like this before but just can't put my finger on it.

Yeah, check these out for examples. If you look closely, you can see in certain photos that they've brought in some type of frame to put the draping on. I did a google for "rent wedding drapery, linens, decor." You would of course want to add your region to narrow it down, of course.

    Good luck!

Do you have a pic of your venue? Most often, the venue is not nearly as bad as the bride thinks it is. With many so called "problem areas", the more you try to hide them, the more attention you bring to them.

What about uplighting or some other kind of lighting? I've seen it really dress up a room.

Is the layout of the tables going to be the same?

I'm wondering if maybe you could drape something maybe ziptie or just tie tulle to the the I don't know what it is, but whatever is holding the chandelier to the ceiling, and then draping it back behind the drapes that are already there? maybe just push the tables inward a tad bit so that they aren't having the tulle right on their head when sitting there Smiley smile not sure if that will work but that's my thought on it!

Honestly that is a very pretty room and I wouldn't spend the time or money trying to cover anything. Pipe and drape is actually pretty expensive if you hire a company to do it. Once you have your decor in there and everything is set up, you're not going to notice it looking plain at all. I think that room has a lot of potential.
