Free/low Cost Sound Mixing For Processional Songs

User2574599655703, on February 9, 2020 at 12:50 AM Posted in Planning 0 5

Hello!

We are using standard MP3 songs for our ceremony music (In other words, no live music). Does anyone know of any low cost or free options to mix our entrance music? I want the bridal party to enter using one song and I want to enter in the middle of a different song. Stop and starting the music sounds clunky, so I would like there to be some kind of transition to make the shift more seamless.

The DJ is only doing the reception and he will be setting up in a totally different room during the ceremony. Also, the sound company that will be providing audio for the ceremony seems to be only capable of pressing "play." Ideally, I would like to have a pre-mixed MP3 file that the audio people can just let play without worrying about getting our cues right.

Any suggestions? How did you create a seamless transition for your ceremony music?

Did you ask the DJ if he is able to put a track together for you? He most likely would be able to put together an mp3 or cd for you. I’m sure there will be a cost but hopefully it will only be a basic up-charge and not a whole separate fee. Good luck!

I don't know why I didn't think of this before but I went on Fiverr and a sound mixer is going to combine our songs with a transition for about $8 bucks. We'll see how it goes! It should be done in about 24 hours.

Audacity is a free piece of software which will do what you need. You will need to work out timings but it’s pretty easy to use.

For $100 more my dj will play music while people are gathering, processional and recessional. He will use an outdoor speaker. If you want to save cost, a wireless speaker and a family member would press play.
