Free Engagement Photo Session (Updated with photo)

Of course it's an attempt to get your wedding day business, but aside from that you should be good to go. I'd probably ask if you're expected to buy prints, but I doubt it.

Our wedding photographer included a complimentary engagement session, but that's getting less and less common (at least from what I've seen). It was typical when I got married in 2005, but when I started looking this time it was hard to come by.

The only ones i would be worried about would be a free honeymoon because it most likely a timeshare kinda thing. Its probally just the pictures and you have to pay for the cd and / prints ( i would do the cd and print using shutterfly ) but I would just make sure they tell yall up front what the fees are so good luck

Congrats! Does the photographer have a website? I won a Mary Kay makeover, but I wouldn't do it again. The saleslady was REALLY pushy.

@Out the window - that happened to me too. I kept putting her off, but that lady called me weekly for like 6 months before finally giving up. So odd.

Btw, Kyle - when are you checking out the venue. Was it on Cape Cod, I'm thinking? Just curious to see how that went, if you saw it yet.

I'm with you Out the Window.. I also won a Mary Kay makeover. It was a great way for all the BMs to meet when I booked it but the lady was also pushy and I was getting annoyed.. smh..

@Kyle I would be careful with stuff like that because I feel that after you did the engagement sessions that they will make you pay for stuff like wedding pictures.. Good luck!!

That's a cool picture. Maybe it doesn't hurt to meet and see what's available. She does say no strings attached so just hang onto that email. I'm naturally suspicious of people, but not everyone is out to get you.

Also..our engagement session is "free" too. It was included in the price of our package and we found this out when we first met with her...so Its a little different than what you are experiancing but as long as you don't sign anything I think you should be good to go!

I looked at there websites ( yes im a creeper ) there photos look really good i say go for it ! and if you dont like the pictures they were free so you dont have to worry about it ( although I know they will look cute )

My Mom won us a free engagement shot section. I posted the video/slideshow somewhere on here about a week or so ago. The shots were lovely, the shoot was about an hour and we go get to choose one of the images to be matted and set up for free. That said, the actual pricing on the images is not cheap. I'll probably end up ordering the ones that I want having them canvassed somewhere else.

I love that pic!! I think it sounds legit, she will likely just want to impress you so you book her for your wedding. I won a free mini photo session from a photographer through my old apartment complex, it came with no obligations except hoping we liked the pics and bought some (but we did not have to), we did because they were good, but that photographer doesn't do weddings, mostly family type of sessions.

Keep us posted on this. I want to know if she ends up being a creeper.
