Foundation makes me look old!

Meg, on December 19, 2017 at 4:26 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 15
It's all in the title. Maybe I'm just not used to wearing foundation? It seemed to make me look older! It caked in the little baby wrinkles when I smiled. How can you avoid this? My MUA seemed to be good at her job otherwise....and she used primer, set it with spray etc. .did anyone just not do foundation? I would lost a photo but I don't get how anymore Smiley sad

I would look into BB creams. They are lighter and won't look as cakey as a traditional foundation.

A good primer usually helps. Do you know what primer and foundation she used? Maybe those particular ones won't work for you, but I'm sure you could find a combo that would!

Using a medium coverage foundation or B.B. cream might help.

Try a primer and baking with translucent powder under your eyes, smile lines, forehead. What foundation was it? The foundation might not be right for your skin type

It's too bad that vendors, like MUAs, are no longer allowed here, I'm sure they would have some great ideas/tips/advice for you!

Yes I swear by BB cream! Foundation is just to heavy for my face. This could be the case with you as well.

Trying a different type of foundation may be best for you. My mom uses a mousse foundation and I use a liquid. Some of my friends use at-home airbrush makeup because it helps with coverage. Be honest with her and let her know what you don't like. It's important to get the look you want. Maybe you can do a second trial where she tries different foundations.

A great trick (other than a good very high quality foundation for mature skin) is to use a beauty blender after you apply foundation. Just wet it with warm water ring it out with a towel so it's just slightly damp and then roll it over your entire face. This will take off any excess product so it won't crease in your wrinkles. You wouldn't believe the difference it makes! Good luck!

A great moisturizer, then primer, and those little blenders will do the job. The MUA I love so baking.

Setting Powder.. Setting Powder.. Setting Powder. Preferably a brightening/highligting one. Literally my holy grail. I find that it minimizes my fine lines and maximizes the overall life of my makeup. It stops my makeup from creasing and brightens up my face.
