Foundation flashback?

DJA, on January 20, 2017 at 3:47 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

So I'm on the hunt for a long lasting foundation for oily/combo skin. I have heard great reviews about Estée Lauder Double Wear, but have heard mixed experiences on flashback in photography. Does anyone have experience with this foundation or have another in mind that fits my criteria? Thanks everyone!

I have oily/combo skin and I just recently switched from the Estée Lauder to the urban decay all nighter! I love it.

There are also setting sprays/powders that help add a matte finish Smiley smile

I love that foundation and that powder, my only concern is that it doesnt match everyone . If you get properly color matched youll be fine. It does last all day and it's oil free.

I use LimeLight by Alcome for my foundation and blush (I have oily and sensitive skin) and then spray Urban Decay's setting spray over and have had zero issues. This is what I did for engagement pictures and even with it being nearly 80 degrees I have nothing to say about the way the makeup held up!

Try a foundation stick for better coverage. Bobbi Brown and Anastasia Beverly Hills have some with great reviews

Hopefully, JoRocka, the Mistress of Make-Up, will pop in. Because of her advice, I am now addicted to two products I always thought were a waste of money. A great primer (one for the face and one for the eyes) and a setting mist. I selected ELF products -- budget friendly and they do exactly what they claim to do. They keep your make-up looking fresh for hours.

Take a trip to Ulta. The ladies there love make-up, many are well versed on which products work best for whom, and they'll spend as much time as you need letting you sample products until you find the one that works. I went there for the first time right before Christmas. They were so helpful -- not pushy, but super helpful.

SPF is the most common contributor to foundation flashback. So try to get a foundation without any in it. I use MUFE Velvet Mat and had no issues for my engagement photos.

Makeup Forever HD! Blends into your skin so lovely but still covers everything. Use the HD powder to set afterwards.

Just stay away from anything with silica in it, because that's the product that causes flash back! Merle Norman lasting foundation is a good matte for oily skin!

Smashbox is designed for photos, so it won't have flashback. MAC foundations , Kat Von D, UD, and Bobbi Brown all have good foundations for no flashback.

When looking for something without flashback, look for foundation without SPF. that's what makes the white cast on flashbacks. I use DoubleWear every single day and have no problem with flashback.

My esthetician recommended Smashbox Studio Skin for my oily skin. I bought a bottle a few weeks ago and I really like it so far! I do think a setting spray would help too, I haven't tried one yet though!
