Forgetting something?

Heather, on June 12, 2019 at 9:16 AM Posted in Planning 0 10
We were engaged in April, wedding is October 13th, this year. So far we have the venue, food, photographer, signing a dj today, cake tasting scheduled, officiant, dress and weddings bands purchased, alterations appointment scheduled, tux reserved, hotel block reserved, and invitations/rsvps should arrive tomorrow. I plan on making the bouquets. I have hair and makeup booked. What else am I forgetting to plan for? I feel like Ive forgotten a ton, but can’t think of what!

I think you have most things in order. You didn’t mention a bridal party but if you have one then consider their attire, their gifts, parent gifts, favors if you are doing them, centerpieces, accessories (veil, shoes, jewelry), programs, menus, timeline, photo shots list...that’s all I can think of lol

Here's a few things I could think of! I've LOVED wedding planning and keep track of everything that still needs to be done in my phone.

Have you booked someone to do live ceremony music or will your DJ be doing the ceremony music as well? Are you going to be doing videography? Are you doing a registry? Have you bought your jewelry already? Have you decided on your getaway car? Have you picked out your bridesmaids dresses if you're having a bridal party? Have you gotten your centerpieces and decorations?

Other small things: Do you need to buy/rent flatware/plates/cups/chargers or is your venue/caterer providing these? Are you doing a garter toss and need to buy the garter? Have you already gotten your thank you cards? Are you having people hold/throw something for the send-off (sparklers, bubbles, flower petals, etc.)? Do you still need to get wedding party/groom/parents gifts?

Hair and makeup trial? That's what I just finished up this month. Decor buying and making? Otherwise I agree with Latasha on the other things! Also DJ playlist!

I have my veil and shoes! Also bridesmaids have their dresses ordered. I have my bridesmaid gifts! And I’ve purchased all the pieces I need to make the centerpieces! I’ll make sure I add time line, photo list and programs to my list!

My brother-in-law has offered his videographer services! Dj will cover the ceremony music. Bridesmaids have ordered their dresses. Venue is providing linens/flatware/plates/chargers/etc. I have gotten bridesmaids gifts already. I also have all the pieces purchased to put the centerpieces together. I’ll definitely add the rest to my to do list! Thank you!

Our cupcake vendor mentioned that something a lot of people forget is a cake cutter/server, and forks, and also sometimes a cake topper. Other than that, the only things I can think of are fairly small: centerpieces, seating chart/escort cards, guest book, card box, menu cards/programs, and thank you cards.

Honestly there are so many small things you'll think of later on. I remember thinking to myself yes I'm done no more questions... But then I somehow always end up asking my vendors more questions I'll randomly think of one day. My advice is to do an inventory check every now and then to see if you're missing things you need to buy

I would start thinking about ceremony music, shot lists, music lists, ceremony programs, timeline of the day, and honeymoon? Smiley smile October 12th bride here!

Wow you've got so much done! I would say look over a few checklists from different websites to see if they catch anything. Enjoy your time being engaged!
