For 2 year engagement people

Chelsea, on February 5, 2020 at 3:26 PM Posted in Planning 1 24

It feels like its been FOREVVERRRRR... Anyone else feel this way? Hows planning going? I started at June 8, 2019 and have till July 10, 2021. I wanted to get married this year but we got accepted on our house two weeks after so 2019 was house. 2020 is saving and planning wedding for 2021... and 16 months feels like forever. HBU?

We got engaged In January of 2019. Getting married in September 2020. The time does start to go faster. I can't believe that it is 2020 and that we are almost at the 6 month mark. Enjoy your engagement, it will go faster than you think!

Okay, glad im not alone! lol What do you guys all have booked aready?

I have venue, DJ, I just booked last weekend a planner, decorator and photobooth. I havent asked my bridal party but started to buy things to put towards their gifts so its not all a one big clump because we have 8 on each side.

Ours was 19 months. The first 6 months flew by, the next 7 months dragged on, then the last 6 months flew by! There were lulls but it gave us time to focus on other things and spend more time planning so we were sure and not rushed!

Absolutely not! So far we have our venue, DJ, Photographer and Videographer booked. We've selected our wedding party as well but haven't sent out any proposals just yet because we haven't started buying any gifts.. its about 7 people on each side. Do you have an idea on what you want to have for catering? I'm bummed when it comes to choosing the food.

We became engaged on 12/31/17 and we're getting married 10/9/20. It seemed long at the beginning but time now seems to be flying by.

I definitely feel you! We were supposed to get married this August but we were forced to cancel that wedding and had to start over. With that happening, we too needed more time to save so now we're at February 2021. Congrats on your house though! That's still a huge accomplishment and the time will go by (even though we feel it will take forever x infinity lol).

I was engaged for 19.5 months and it never once flew by. But one day it finally came. I hated waiting. The only thing was I had more time to save money.

So my Fiance and I hate wedding food so we went with a hall that allows outside catering. I am wanting to do BBQ however, I have 19 quotes from places near my area and it just got out of hand and i decided to work on something else. I have 250 guest and Im trying to plan a wedding with 15k... so its hard! Im trying to find one for 5k with apps. I found some but havent tried them yet and it just got out of hand dealing with food lol... How are you guys asking your groomsman? We dont have ideas for them yet. My girls I bought totes and i have a circket machine so im going to put their initials and put cute cards that im making on how to ask each one, also throwing hair ties in and maybe nail polish of wedding color? Came out to $8 per girl so work out... Guys are hard

If they were available, I'm sure they would have been ok with it. The thing with that though is that most, if not all venues/vendors would require a new deposit considering it's still breaking contract even if it's just a date change. Plus, we live in Vegas and it was supposed to be in California. We decided in the long run to just make new plans and stay local this time around.

Since we had taken such a huge financial hit, to keep things simple this time around, we'll be eloping at one venue and holding a big reception elsewhere right after. We've already booked our new locations. It's not the dream wedding I wanted but I'm still excited because I'll still be marrying my best friend and that's all that matters!

2020 Bride, BUT I know EXACTLY HOW you feel. lol We got engaged in July 2018 and now we are finally in the year of our wedding. To me It felt so slow(some brides say otherwise), but I like to plan and do things always lol. HOWEVER, it gave me a lot of time to think things over and not have to worry about making last minute decisions and feeling anxiety .

I know how you feel. In the beginning it feels like forever but take the time now and get the big stuff out of the way, looking back now I'm so glad I did. While getting the venue over a year ago, we were able to get the same pricing before they raised their services. And now we are 46 days away and so glad now it's just logistics and minor things to worry about.

I understand! We’re thinking about Italian food for the wedding and some light hors d’oeuvres for cocktail hour.
Since all of his grooms/best man like alcohol I found some really cool bottle tags on Etsy that said “drink up, suit up your service as my groomsmen is being requested”
As for my bridesmaids/maid of honors I was thinking of something simple like a scratch off card and tie the knot bangle for proposals... and once the invitations are accepted then I’ll follow up with them by gifting them bridesmaids boxes.

We got engaged in August 2018 and we are getting married in July! Honestly, it didn’t feel too bad. The first few months felt like it was going to take forever. But at about 15-16 months, it started to fly. I can’t believe we’re almost 5 months away now!

Our engagement will be 2.5 years long when we are getting married and yes at times it feels like forever, but at the same time, there are stretches when time flies!
