So our venue offers a couple different ways to serve food during the wedding... They will really be about the same price per head, (and plenty of food at that), so I was wondering which would be better? I have heard that the station method can get kind of hectic, but would offer guests the ability to munch throughout the night... On the other hand plated is a little more formal, and not so hectic, but can take quite a bit of time. What did you guys do? Any opinions and advice welcome!

Personally, I feel like plated meals with more than just the main course served take a long time and cut into dancing too much.

Plated for sure. I hate hate hate walking in heels, standing in said heels, and then walking to and from the food. I always feel nervous about whether I would trip or drop my plate, etc. I'd rather have a plated dinner with an option (when I RSVP) than have a few more choices and have to both wait in line and walk back and forth for those options.

I vote plated. It's more elegant in my opinion. Less hectic like you said. I think people enjoy the comfort of being served without having to worry about walking around with plates of food that can potentially spill. It just seems like the better idea.

Ps: my cocktail hour will be stations (as I'm sure many others will) but maybe look into that? That way you get the best of both worlds

I say plated. I always feel awkward carrying food around when I go to a buffet and I think I would feel the same with serviing stations. Plated is a lot more formal and less awkward
