Food

Hello đź’•

We are giving our guest a three plate option. A chicken option, a beef fillet option and a vegetarian option. The chicken option that we liked the best was barbecue chicken. It has pineapple on top and sounds like a really good sweet barbecue. I talk to my FH and MOH and they had concerns that it would be too low-key for the wedding style. I wouldn’t say our wedding is going to be overly fancy but it will be nice with a string trio And other elegant touches. Thoughts on this chicken option? Will anyone really care?

As long as it's a filet and not bone in chicken I think it's fine.

I think it's fine? What are the sides served with it? I think as long as it's on nice china & linens and not something super casual like paper plates and a BBQ sandwich, you'll be fine especially with other options.

Agreed with Mcskipper! I think that you will have guests that will be thankful for a more familiar option and will be excited to try something different like pineapple on chicken!

Agree with this too— eat-ability is more important to match formality: as long as it’s fork-and-knife food, it’s formal enough to eat in formalwear. I went to a black tie wedding that had a roasted chicken option that turned out to be a whole half chicken on the bone. Though the girl at our table that got it said it was very tasty, she only ate a small portion of it as to really get to the bulk of the meat she would’ve really had to work for it & probably use hands, but she wasn’t about to do that in a gown. So, as long as it’s not something someone has to use hands
to eat, I think it’s fair game!

I wouldn’t care if your wedding was the fanciest thing around... I’d still eat that chicken. It sounds delicious. I think your guests will appreciate that option as well.
