If you could find bbq or mexican or italian cuisine catering, those would be the most economical

I would look into your local Mexican, Italian, or bbq restaurant.

That's roughly $11 per person. That's tighter than a tight budget. I plan events all the time and it's hard to find catering for less than $15 - $20 per person without alcohol. With Alcohol, you're looking at $50 per person.

Are you doing it at a venue? Have you tried some online caterers?

What time is your wedding? I would suggest having your wedding at a non meal time and just offering appetizers or having a cake and punch reception. As Margaret said, that comes out to around $11 per person, and I am just not sure you can serve a full meal for that.

With your venue could you maybe do a family style or byo as you buy the food at costco or Sam's, then go with independent people(restaurant cooks, cooking schools, lunch ladies) or family(which is what I ended doing since they are competitive home cooks and wanted to as a gift) to cook. I saved a ton this way as long as you have a ton of crock pots to keep food warm. Like thanksgiving but with no holiday restrictions.

Check your favorite local restaurant for catering. The prices will be so much lower than what a regular wedding caterer charges and you'd already know the food is good. Beverages may be a separate cost but still inexpensive by comparison.

Depending on the venue, most require a licensed caterer, which a restaurant (Mexican, Italian, Asian, etc) can do but DIY from Costco can't.

I'd look into a locally owned Italian restaurant and see if they'll give you a deal for a large catering order.

We kept costs down by having a Brunch wedding. The food was included in our venue cost, so it was about $80/pp.

I'd say BBQ catering would be your best bet. It really depends on what your style is and other parts of the wedding.

Ask your local restaurant owners!! I'm feeding 70 for under $500. A lot of them like to get their product out there so that they can get more business!

Chikfila?? or look into BBQ or Mexican food, costco for do it yourself... DON'T mention for wedding, say it's for a large gathering or for a "reunion" if you must..... once you mention "Wedding" the price goes up from there....example is Smokey Bones.... you can find a menu online for large gatherings and reunions, but the pricing is hidden for "weddings" you have to call them and actually ask for a quote..... I'm looking to spend $1,000-1,500 for food myself for 108-130 people roughly...

I am doing catering through Chikfila haha! We were quoted about $1,300 for about 150 guests. It will of course depend on what you order. Our wedding is more casual and beachy so I think we'll be able to get away with it. Plus we love the service they provide.

You can do a non meal time and do appetizers, chips and dip station (tortilla chips, salsa, guacamole, cheese sauce) fruit platters, mini sandwiches or foot longs from local costco/sams club/deli, cookies, cupcakes,

You can also do a Pizza/wing theme. Check local restaurants.

    pollo campero

even Costco/sams club/krogers cook food you can do it on that budget.
