I would say parents and grandparents and their respective tables. Most buffet events I’ve been to the dj announces the tables

Yea I'd say people in the wedding party and the immediate families after the couple

The family normally eats next or go to get their food next. The DJ or wait staff that is there also normally help dismiss tables so there isn't a bottle neck.

We are doing buffet and we have asked the caterers to serve us at our table while the bridal party gets their food. After bridal party they will start with the tables of family then go back from there.

We had our guests released by table #. Parents / Grandparents were at the first 3 tables that were reserved, so they got to eat first.
