Hi everyone,

My fiancé and I are having a "backyard soiree" wedding reception and have decided to do a food truck service. We plan to have 70 guests and want to make sure there are two options for them to choose from. My question is when calculating costs should I contract both food trucks to feed 70 guests? Is someone really going to be that hungry that they eat two selections from each truck? Or should I estimate that half would eat from one and half from the other to save on costs? The only downside would be running out of food in one truck. This sounds like I'm such a penny pincher, but I'm just looking out for our bank account.

Any suggestions or has anyone done a food truck reception? Thanks!

Such a cool thing!!!! Wish we could do a food truck! I would say ask them about portions, and if I were going to a wedding that had two, I would probably try both.

Hey, I"m not so old I don't know what a food truck is, I just can't envision a bunch of guests waiting on line for food cooked to order; not for the entire dinner. I've seen them for after parties, when there is a trickle/flow of guests, but not at a time in the reception where everyone is hungry at once.

I was at a reception wedding and was a nightmare. Make sure they know the timeline. I was so embarrassed for the groom and bride it was not even funny. It took TWO HOURS to serve everyone- 2 sliders and a handful of chips. Very disappointing and do not recommend this to be your only food. It should be like a grab and go Thanks for coming at the end of the night.
