Food Tasting Update

So sorry to hear that. Unfortunately that is common with all inclusive venues because you are not allowed to taste the catering until after you sign the contract for the venue. Hopefully you are able to get a much better quality meal.

View Quoted Comment Thanks a lot Michelle! I am looking forward to the tasting on Monday. I also found out from the couple that the food was buffet style, and we are not having a buffet. Not sure if that makes a difference, but I am crossing my fingers really tight that the other food is tasteful.

Ugh! Why would the food be different on another day with a small group? Wouldn’t it be the same chefs preparing?

This was a big deal we had with the venue because before we booked we’d asked if we would try the food we’re having at the wedding and we were told yes. However, when I got the email about the group tasting I was informed the menu would be limited and we’d need to pay to try the food we’re having. SMH which we were never told about.

Tilapia is a largely farmed fish, so I wouldn't blame that on the cooking.

All-inclusives can be this way, good for you for doing a tasting.

I wish you could use my caterer. We are having southern food and our tasting was incredible. It was seriously like a four course meal for free and only 10k for 300 people!

View Quoted Comment Wow!!! That’s a great deal!!!!! I wish!! We’re hoping everything goes well Monday, because if not we might have to pay for outside caterer. We have this place here called The Greasy Spoon, some of the best southern food I’ve ever had. That’s our plan B.

View Quoted Comment Well, they’re going to let us try the food options we actually want to have at the wedding on Monday. And we’ll go from there. If it’s not up to par we will do outside catering. I just didn’t want to go through that because it’s just something extra I’ll have to worry about.
