Food catering 🙄☹️

What type of food do you serve at a wedding? I personally want to do something soulful with a splash of party food ☺️? Any suggestions ?

It's heavy food, but the venue is a bar/restaurant so 🤷‍♀️

I'm having Chinese with some Caribbean choices!! Think fried snapper, jerk pork, rice and peas, general Tao chicken, fried chicken wings, spicy fried shrimp, vegetable fried rice/lo mein. Things like that! Super reasonable in price too!

We’re open to just about anything. I think what we’ll go for if it fits our budget is a mac n cheese bar for cocktail hour, and either a chili and baked potato bar (we’re getting married in November so very comforting) or roasted chicken with mashed potatoes for dinner.

What “soulful” items did you have in mind? Would the party food be for appetizers?

You can never go wrong with Italian or BBQ! I've had lots of different kinds of chicken and pastas at weddings, as they are cheap and tasty!

    Our Menu was...
Entrees: Cajun Chicken with Mango Salsa & Beef in Au Jus
Sides: Peas & Onion, Parsley Buttered Red Potatoes, Mostaccioli, House Salad, Bread & Butter

We did a buffet style and it was pretty nice. Not too heavy, food was delish. I think that's all I really cared about was taste and what I could consume, as I'm lactose intolerant. I had them tweak a few things on my menu to make it more inclusive to people with dairy allergies (mostly because I don't wanna be waiting on my own food while everyone else eats) and I had a couple that was Vegan that my venue accommodated with Vegan Mediterranean pasta and they were able to choose from the salad (it had no cheese in it, on the side only) and the veggies (cooked in margarine).

At our tasting they had all of their menu's because it was a large tasting and if we wouldn't have gone with the package we had -- we definitely would have gone BBQ/ Fried Chicken as they're known for the chicken & I just like BBQ.

We'll be doing a mac and cheese bar for dinner. Toppings will include choice of chicken, brisket, or bacon with various veggies, sauces, bread crumbs, and more cheese.
