The least expensive will usually be drop-off restaurant catering. This is an international forum, so if you give us your location, local people may be able to give you more specific recommendations. Costs are going to vary by location.

Costs are going to vary by location so it is hard to recommend a caterer without knowing where the wedding will be taking place.

Corporate drop off catering from any local restaurant (in a plethora of cuisines, not just Italian or BBQ) will be the least expensive. You also get double the food with better taste/quality than a wedding caterer alot of the time. Just hire serving staff from Thumbtack and you're good to go.
