Food at Chateau Briand ?

Concetta, on March 14, 2018 at 10:39 AM Posted in New York Planning 0 10

Hi my fellow brides! I was just wondering if anyone has been to Chateau Briand and would mind telling me how the food is. My fiancee and I went over the weekend and he absolutely fell in love with it! I see all of the reviews on here state the food is amazing, but my brother and sister in law went to a wedding at Chateau a few years back and said the food was horrible. I am worried that we are blinded by the beauty and might be stuck with nasty food. I am from a big italian family so food is such a major thing and they will have no issue coming up to me the day of to complain! Maybe if you have not went to Chateau before but you know a nice venue with great food you would be able to reccomend? Thank you gals in advance!

My husband went to a work event there last year and said the food was awful. Are you looking strictly on Long Island? How many guests?

Russo's on the Bay in Howard Beach has great food and they recently renovated the space.

Thank you so much! Yes Long Island/Queens or Brooklyn. We have 110 guest ... are there any venues you recommend to check out?

Russo's on the Bay in Howard Beach has great food and they recently renovated the space. My nephew got married at The Riviera in Coney Island about 3 years ago and I was really surprised at how good the food was for a catering hall. They also renovated about 5 years ago and it has a really clean modern look.

Me and my husband were looking for the anti-ballroom. We live on Long Island but I am from Brooklyn originally so we were open to both areas. I got married at Deity on Atlantic Avenue in downtown Brooklyn and was very happy with everything. I don't know your budget but if it's big, I would suggest Brooklyn Winery. It would have cost almost double what my wedding cost but it's drop dead gorgeous and I heard the food is phenomenal.

What type of aesthetic are you looking for? Grand, elegant ballroom? Modern and chic? Funky? Rustic? Industrial?

I went to a wedding there in 2016 and the food was pretty good! they give you about 9 dinner options, my fiance could be really picky with food ( comes from a big old school italian family so you know they LOVE food) and out of all the wedding we went to that year his dinner choice there was one of his favorites. A venue i would HIGHLY recommend staying away from its Jericho Terrace, the food was HORRIBLE!!!!

check out Larkfield and Sand Castle-I haven't personally been there but people rave about how good the food is there.

I'm not sure if GymRat is still active on here but read her BAM, she got married there! https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/pro-bam-video-gymrats-thursday-night-long-island-wedding/22593481f6e41b4a.html

Also I come from a big fat Italian/Puerto Rican family and food is definitely a priority for my family. We didn't book there, but best wedding venue food on the island has been Giorgio's in Baiting Hollow. It is SO good.

Hi, they have said that Jericho terrace has horrible food. I just went to a wedding at Jericho in September and I will say I was not impressed at all. If your guest arrive early, they can not go to cocktail or even have a seating area for them... they have to stand around the hall... which at chateau they have a little hospitality section with cookies and coffee and such lol. The cocktail at Jericho, the food was not bad but I️t did not wow me, the bartender at this party was an older man with no emotion I️t was very awkward getting drinks even soda from him... lastly, the room seemed very crowded, I️t us a beautiful venue but the room felt very tight and the dinner was horrible. The sides weren’t okay, but the steaks all came out wrong and nasty and the fish was dry. If you are looking for beauty than I️t is gorgeous but for the bedside manor they extremely lack I️t and the food lacks a lot of flavor
