Hey y'all,

Soooo due to COVID, my sister isn't gonna be able to be my maid of honor. She has a 7 month old son and doesn't want to risk traveling taking the 20-min flight over for the ceremony. I totally understand but I would be lying if I said I'm happy about it. I've been where with her and my nephew literally since the day he was born so I'll really miss not physically having both of them there. I've asked my mom who is beyond delighted so I'm grateful for that. My FS will not be able to have his family join us either for the same reasons about traveling but we will have my immediate family and 4 very close mutual friends to share our day.

Just wanted to share that and I'm sure we can all relate to missing someone we wish would be there on our big day . . .

That is definitely a bummer! Is there a way to video them in? Also, this may be a silly question, but if it's only a 20-minute flight, would there be an opportunity to drive / train / shuttle from one place to the other? Or is a body of water between Point A and Point B? Just trying to throw out ideas / other perspectives!

    I'm so sorry.

Your feelings are valid, and also, your understanding is valid.

As Allie said... that's a short flight - is there another way?

    Hey ladies,
Thank you for your support and encouragement.

We all literally on different islands so a flight would be only way for her to come over. We’re still trying to figure out how to live stream or video so she’ll still be able to see our wedding. I know it’s not the same as actually having her there but at least we’ll still be able to share the experience. If we didn’t have to deal with COVID, then her and the baby would’ve probably already been over to see our family. But as I said, I completely understand and agree with all her concerns so it’s okay.
