I posted late last week about cupcakes vs cake. FH loves the idea and I found an awesome bakery around the corner who gave us a reasonable quote (esp. for NJ) and free cupcakes (with a "NBD if you don't book with us...just tell some neighbors to stop by"). We tried the cupcakes and loved the variety, so we're all in at this point.
Here's my question: we have the option of standard cupcakes ($2.25 each) or mini cupcakes (99 cents each). The cupcake lady said that when people do standard and mini cupcakes, the minis always go first and caterers end up cutting the larger cupcakes. People like the minis because they can have multiple flavors, and she typically budgets 2-3 per person. But, are the mini cupcakes too birthday party? Should we stick with standard? She told us she'd dress them up with edible glitter, etc.
FYI, we do have other dessert offerings, but I don't want to stray too far from traditional wedding cake (too late?).
