Folding fans for the ceremony

jennifer, on January 23, 2018 at 7:55 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 11

I want to get some fans for the wedding in case it's hot outside during the ceremony. How many fans should I order? One person said one per woman. Should it be one per guest instead? Or should I round to a number. Also what ones should I look into getting? Should I get a variety (3 to 5) or should I get one color? Some are out of stock and I'm hopeful they come in, in time. My color scheme is pastels. Also its a rustic garden butterfly theme. The girls are wearing pink to purple dresses. Thank you in advance for the advice. I'm sorry there are so many choices.

I don’t think there is much coverage. I’m not sure maybe she thought the men wouldn’t use them.

You don't do this. You move the wedding inside if it's hotter than 80 degrees. Don't be rude to your guests. No one wants to fan themselves at a wedding.

I understand that and have a backup plan. Sometimes certain people get warm when others don’t. I get over heated and it can be 40 degrees out. I just want to have this in case someone is like me. I also plan to have bottled water.

You get them for the women, especially those who are MOB age, and might be having hot flashes, ha, ha!

Honestly, I think science has shown that the action of fanning yourself heats you up more than it cools you down. Somehow, it still feels good to fan your face.

If it were me I would just get the least expensive ones as long as you like them. They won't be in many pictures and people will likely get rid of them after.

I really like the light blue/white fans. Is it possible to get the same lace pattern with different pastel colors? I would do that if you're doing pastels in general so there's a blend, and then the ladies can choose which color they like.

I would go neutral with one of the first choices. How big is the guest list?

I see this as a totally unnecessary but thoughtful and adorable touch to a wedding--like favors, or a basket of toiletries in the bathroom. I'd get enough for more than half your guests...I'd assume not everyone would take one (not every man or woman) and that woman would be much more likely to take the fans than the men, but that some med would still take them. I'd have the DOC bring any leftover fans to the reception space and lay them out on a table in case anyone wants to bring one home as a favor (or someone wants a second one).

These are the ones I got. I think I got 150 for 172 people invited. Not everyone will want one. Do plan on having plenty of water on hand for people. And of course if it’s too hot things will move inside
