It honestly looks more like a bridesmaid dress to me. Is she set on the color? Maybe you could both look for one that looks more MOG-ish if that makes since? I almost feel like MOB and MOG dresses should look more regal than flowy but that’s just my personal opinion

I was the MOB and I think this is a beautiful dress. It is clearly pale blue, not white. If she loves it, I'd be happy she found something so pretty that she likes. My MOB dress had short cap sleeves, and was pale pink, but it was kind of along the same lines -- fitted bodice, soft a-line skirt -- so I may be biased. I'm not sure what the concern would be unless it is a super casual wedding and you think this is too dressy.

I don't see anything wrong with it. The white overlay, doesn't look "bridal" at all to me. It wouldn't bother me at all if someone wore this to my wedding but that's my opinion and this is yours so if it bothers you, say something!! I'm assuming that's why she asked in case you didn't like it. So if you don't, tell her!! Good luck and congratulations!!

My MIL wanted to wear a sleeveless, ivory lace dress to my wedding. She said it was the perfect dress for a beach wedding. You know who also wore a sleeveless ivory lace dress? Me. The bride.

No one is going to confuse your FMIL, in a blue dress, for the bride.

I think it’s lovely. Don’t over think the whole white lace thing as over the blue it will be more neutral.
