I used to work for the TSA and one of the main issues people ran into when leaving for their honeymoon was that their ticket was booked in one name and their ID was still in their previous name. I understand that we’re all excited to change our names (those of us that are) but please, book your ticket under your maiden name unless you know you’re going to be able to get it legally changed (identification and all) in time for your travel. A year and a half ago it meant having to make a (long) phone call and additional screening once cleared, NOW with RealID and the changes around that, it could mean not flying at all.
A lot of people don’t think about it, and are so excited to use their new name that they don’t think about potential issues like this so I just wanted to mention it for anyone catching a plane after the wedding.
