So as I sit here on a layover, I thought I'd give some advice for traveling....
We are flying Southwest and they do not have closets on their planes. However, I have had 0 problems! No-one even blinked an eye when they saw I had the dress, they have all been completely friendly and willing to help me put it into the overhead bins!
I will say: We had A boarding(their first group to board) I paid for Early Bird check in when we booked the tickets and that was $15 per person (which almost always gives you A boarding)...this gave us a few people on board already so I could put my dress on top of a couple bags up front and it made a world of difference, so if you are flying Southwest either go Business Select so you are in A boarding group, do Early Bird check in to risk getting A group, *or* once at the airport, at your gate you can pay the $40 to upgrade your boarding at the gate!
**ETA** Also, we paid the fee to have TSA Pre-Check for 5yrs, so no standing in long security lines with the dress etc and No having to worry about taking out laptops or liquids and could keep shoes on...thays waa a huge help. Not exactly a "Southwest" tip, but still a travel tip!
BONUS: after we got seated, but before take off, one of the flight attendants found me and gave us a bottle of champagne and said "From us at Southwest thanks for choosing us to fly for your wedding!" 😍🍾✈
