Flute violin or skip?

Leslie, on January 10, 2020 at 12:56 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5

We’re a second wedding for both of us and have a small outdoor ceremony at venue. I’ve been thinking about having live music before and at entrance. Flute or violin? Or just keep it simple and no music? And where do I find these people?

You can use the Vendor tab here, or try Gigmasters or Gigsalad (those are the two we used).

We had a violinist for the ceremony and an accordionist for cocktail hour. The live soloists really made a difference! And way better than messing with a playlist for the ceremony.

I would definitely have music. You can find vendors on the vendor tab on here. I would also look on The Knot.

Violin! My FH is a music educator so he is getting some of his friends from college to play for us. I highly suggest reaching out to a college near you for some talent. Try to find the contact for their orchestra director and get the first or second chair violin. They will work for much cheaper than a professional violinist and should still be able to play the songs you want at a quality level.

I’m a violinist. You can book people through wedding wire, gig salad, gigmasters, thumbtack. Your local college or symphony will also have people.
