Flowers

Has anyone decided to go silk flowers instead of real flowers for their wedding? If you did any pros or cons? Were they less expensive than real flowers? Also has anyone used the renting service called Something Borrowed Blooms or other silk flower rental services like this?

I had real flowers, but I know a wedding planner Jamie Wolfer who has a Youtube channel highly recommended Something Borrowed Blooms in one of her wedding planning how to videos.

We're going to look into silk flowers as well. I heard good things about Ling's Moments but I'm unaware of the prices.

I used sola wood flowers and saved a lot of money! I spent $200 and was able to make 8 bouquets, 16 boutonnieres, and 6 corsages. I still have about 50 flowers left over.

You can get fresh flowers inexpensively at fiftyflowers.com if you don't mind DIY. Artificial flowers are hit or miss and not always cheaper than fresh. Many women don't mind that you can't keep them so splurge on photos. Silk flowers that are inexpensive don't always look that nice..some do but it's not guaranteed. Silk flowers that look real can easily be as expensive as fresh exotic flowers. You have to weigh out your pros and cons.

I would recommend looking around. I thought about silk flowers but when I did the math they would be the same if not more than real flowers. I also live in the Los Angeles area and we have a flower mart where I can buy flowers in bulk. I would see if you have a wholesale floral distributor near you.
