Flowers

I need flower ideas! I don't want to spend a fortune on flowers and am looking into maybe balloons as filler. Would love to see and hear some of your lovely ideas?

You'd be surprised how good grocery store flowers are - I hear great things about Trader Joe's and Wegmans. Another cost saving idea is to only have wedding party flowers; and do flowerless centerpieces and décor.

I just ordered $360 worth of flowers from sams club. I will get 30 Hydrangeas, 125 roses and 140 carnations.
This will make all our bouquets, 8 centerpieces, and 8 side table vases.

    Hello and congratulations!

I would say unless your them is “whimsical” then definitely no on the balloons. Try to use artificial flowers for the ceremony and real ones for your reception. Fresh flowers can cost a lot of money and the are only appreciated for that moment.

Michaels currently has a 70% off their Fall flowers collection sell that goes until Monday. Depending on your theme and time of year you might be able to rack up on at least some of your flowers and fillers and wait for the next sell on their Winter collection. I know I did!

Plus you can always sell your gently used flowers on Letgo or Facebook Market place after the wedding!

    Good luck!!

I’m using wood flowers! You can dye them any color and they are way more affordable! All bouquets will be out of these amazing wood flowers!

I recommend fabulous florals. Com or your local grocery store. I found that most real touch artificial flowers were just as expensive as those two options. You can also repurpose the bouquets from your bridal party by using them as decor in your reception. I'm using flower petals, votive candles, and pretty table numbers to decorate our tables ($10 or less per table).

Artificial flowers are MUCH cheaper and can be sold after the wedding to make some money back too. Hobby Lobby usually has 40-50% off sales so just wait for a sale if you decide to get them from there.

I’ll be doing a majority of candles for centerpieces with greenery instead of flowers. Sooo much cheaper.

I was definitely taken aback by the cost of flowers. It all adds up so quickly!
I knew that I wanted the look of real flowers but I was not about to drop mad money on it. I looked online at options like Fifty Flowers (I had a friend of mine use Fifth Flowers and she said it was easy!) and Bloominous, but I had no clue where to start as far as quantities go, much less how to arrange and know the “recipes” for each item. I eventually found Flower Moxie online. They seemed very reasonable and have lots of tutorials on YouTube. Plus, they even had premade packages of flowers so there’s really no guesswork involved. You can also utilize candles and greenery in addition to fresh flowers to really stretch your budget, which is what we’re doing.

Our flowers are coming from our local Kroger florist! I really wanted real and this way we can have real without a traditional florist price!

In my area, balloons are actually more expensive than flowers. $1 per balloon and 75 cents for helium. Many blooms are less than $1 per stem. Be sure to do your research in your area before committing to balloons.

I am not a florist, but I have been reading up on all the tips and tricks. There are tons of youtube tutorials, too. Yes, my mom and I will put them together the day before.
    Good luck to you!

Silks are a good way to go. I was worried about cost over all, but In total I spent around 1500. That covered my bouquet, 5 brides maid bouquets, 1 throw bouquet, 8 boutonnieres, a corsage for the flower girl, 12 tall vases and all of the flowers for those center vases.

50% off sales happen at Hobby Lobby that you should definitely check out.
