We are trying to keep the cost down and do our own boutonnieres but I'm having a hard time on how to make the (6) parents, (5) grandparents, (3) ushers and (2) ring bearers. Are they all the same? Which one's are different and how are they different? How can I make then different? Do I had ribbon?

    Hey Lindsey!

As Melle suggested, if you want to differentiate your boutonnieres you can vary the size based on their role. You can totally add ribbon if you want! I would recommend checking out some YouTube tutorials on how to make different styles to see what you like and what will work with your wedding style. It is not mandatory that they are different, obviously. If you would like to keep them the same, that will look great too!

What will the boutonnieres be made of?

It's completely up to you for what you want for each person. There are no rules, so it just depends on what you have on hand. Are these the only florals you plan to do? Bouts end up being made from the 'scraps' of other arrangements a lot of the time, because they don't require a lot of stem length, like when you have a stem of spray roses and there's that one rose that's too much shorter than the others you cut it off and it becomes a bout because the flower is perfectly good. If you are just picking up some grocery store flowers (I recommend spray roses since they are a bit smaller and often come with 3-6 flowers on a single stem as well as buds) you can forage for greenery from a park or your backyard. Ways to add variety:

-different flowers, quantity of flowers or flower openness stage (bud versus fully bloomed)

    -different greens

    -berries/seeds

    -grasses

Adding and subtracting the same few elements will give you plenty of ways to make them personal:
