Flowers

Heather, on June 20, 2020 at 8:21 AM Posted in Planning 1 9
Flowers are the last thing on my list for our wedding! Problem is I have NO IDEA what I need .. I don't think I'm going to have flowers for every reception table I believe we are going with a new idea. But if we don't I know I would need a centerpiece for each table. What else am I going to need?!

We're doing bowls of Korean sweet rolls - individually packaged. I figured ppl would rather eat bread than look at flowers. 😂

I struggled with flowers. We ended up letting our florist decide the finer details (we gave our price range and a general idea of colors/what we were looking for). Instead of flower centerpieces, we decided to put together our own with vases, candles, and water beads (no flowers). We ended up deciding on bouquets for the bridesmaids, moms, and me, flowers for the groomsmen, my fiance, and the dads, flowers for the grandparents, and we are renting silk greenery to decorate our venue. Otherwise, those are the only flowers we decided to spend the money on. As far as what flowers you need, start by checking what is in your budget, and go from there. Maybe consider bouquets/flowers for wedding party, centerpieces (if you decide to do floral centerpieces), ceremony space floral decorations, and reception space floral decorations.

You don't really need any flowers, but the other places we used them were for bouquets, corsages, bouts, arch decor, guest book/card table decor, and cake decor. The best thing we did was order some extra loose flowers and grabbed a couple cheap vases at various stores while we were out shopping. Our DOC put flowers in a few spaces that just looked a little empty.

I would try to find a florist who can kind of guide you through the process. I had no idea what I wanted and our florist has been super helpful.

Flowers are completely optional. You don't even have to carry a floral bouquet if you have something else that is more meaningful to you.

Centerpieces can be anything from copies of photos in dollar store frames to candles (tall hurricane shades will bypass the open flame restriction) to fruit. What do you like?

Take a look at Pinterest for ideas.

How about candles ? I’m choosing floating candles they make a nice romantic feel to the tables.

If anyone feels comfortable sharing what they spent on flowers I'd really appreciate it. I've been in contact with 3 florists and one who I really enjoyed talking to made me feel really great about giving her free range of what I want came back with a $2500 price.. then on the other hand I got a quote from another person for $1800 .. I guess in the grand scheme of things what's $700 more but then again it's like these flowers will end up most likely being thrown away so should I really spend that kind of money when it could go elsewhere 😭
