Flowers

Ashley, on July 30, 2019 at 3:16 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 21

I want to keep my flower budget around $500-$700.

Is that do-able at a florist, or should I consider grocery stores and/or bulk flowers?

That depends on how many flowers you need and what types. I ordered 2 bouquets and a smaller bouquet for about $260. That included a mixture of roses, birds of paradise, and something else that I can’t remember right now! We do live in a smaller city and went to a local florist. If you have a budget go meet with florists and explain your budget. They more than likely will let you know what is and isn’t possible.

If you are only doing fresh flowers for the bridal party, your budget should be good. But if you are planning to have fresh flowers for centerpieces, almost sure this will not work.

Depending on the size of your bridal party and your location, I think you could still squeeze by with all your flower for around 700. We got a quote from a local florist for 1,000 for one bridal and 5 bridesmaid bouquets, 3 corsages, 7 boutonnieres, an arch swag, two barrel topper arrangements that would be moved inside after the ceremony, and about half our centerpieces - the plan was for the bridesmaids to come in from the ceremony and drop their bouquets into empty vases on some of the tables for centerpieces. And that included delivery and setup. I think if you have a smallish wedding party, are willing to reuse some pieces from the ceremony at the reception, and ok with having smaller arrangements, you could probably cut that price down a bit.

That really depends on what you're looking for. For a couple of bouquets, sure. For elaborate bouquets, centerpieces, corsages, bouts, arch decor, etc., probably not. Your best bet is scheduling consultations with nearby florists, letting them know your budget, and seeing if they can work with it.

Most florist I have been to started at $1500 and went up from there. I was able to go to a local wholesale florist and got all my flowers/greenery at wholesale and they are putting everything together for only an extra $200 (making the total come out to be $960). This all included mine and 8 BM bouquets, 12 boutonnieres, greenery for aisle and centerpieces.

We’re getting our flowers for Sam Club. We were quoted $1800 for everything you see in the 1st list. We’re also getting an extra 50 roses, I want to make sure I had enough to decorate with. We’re paying about $850 for everything.

I also didn't want to spend a ton on flowers. I'm using enjoy flowers for the bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages. I have a bridal party of 12 total (including FH and myself) 2 sets of parts and grandparents. My total was $534. They send the pre made flowers to you a day or 2 before the wedding. I ordered a sample bouquet to see what I'd be getting and it was beautiful.

Check out Kukka flowers! I am not trying not to spend a lot on my flowers either, but these have different packages for pretty decent price and you can even do custom combinations!

Definitely go with the grocery store option. We didn’t want any floral centerpieces, just the bouquets, boutonnières, and corsages. For 6 bouquets, 11 boutonnières, and 3 corsages it was under $500 through our local ShopRite.

Our florist here in MD quoted us $600 for my bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, 9 boutonnieres, 3 wrist corsages, and cake flowers. That's totally doable.

Yeah like previous posts it depends on the florists, amount needed and flowers you;re interested in plus season. I did fake flowers because what I got quoted was like $1200 for bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages and centerpieces. I did all of mine for under $200 using fake flowers. I did sole wood flowers and I love the way they look and on centerpieces I did sola flowers and fake flowers from like Joann's and Michaels.

I'm getting my flowers from my local Kroger because it's so much cheaper than a traditional florist! Sam's Club does bulk flowers, if you're interested

Check out your local farms for fresh flowers. They are affordable. Also look into your local grocery stores.

Thank you for all of your advice. I decided to go into my local Pick n Save and talk to them about wedding flowers and I am very optimistic about them! So much that I think I will go with them! So thank you to those who suggested going to a local grocery store!

It depends on what you’re envisioning and other things. Our venue includes basic floral centerpieces in our package. Nothing fancy but I’ll show you a picture. So that was covered. I could upgrade to better flowers but that’s less important. I have 4 in my bridal party. The starting piece for the smallest bridesmaids bouquet was $35 which I believe is about 10-12 stems. My starting price was $65. I needed 6 bouts. 5 at $12 and 1 at $16 for my FH. I got my mom a 26$ corsage and we got different centerpieces for our sweet heart table which was 90$ all together. So it came to 400$. Probably 600$ if my centerpieces weren’t included. Eventually before the wedding we will go back and decide if we wanna add like flowers for the ceremony and cake and the flower girls and my bouquet will be upgraded and maybe make the girls a little bigger. That should be about $200 give or take. So all in all if I went without the upgrades or extra small stuff then I would be looking at $400. You can also get the smallest bouquets and stuff and buy some fake flowers like single ones at add to things which can sometimes be cheaper and I know people who did that and you couldn’t tell there was any fake flowers honestly!
