Flowers

Patricia, on June 13, 2019 at 8:43 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 16

Everyone keeps giving me grief because I don't want flowers for decorations at our ceremony or reception. My fiance and I like the rustic charm of the chapel and the carriage house. The venue provides several non floral centerpieces for the tables plus a beautiful cross and candles for the chapel. We have some rustic signs we will be adding in the reception. I think that's plenty. The wedding party will have flowers. I don't want to take away from the simple beauty of our venue which is why we chose Ashelynn Manor in the first place. I'm not "being cheap"! We just like what we like!

We're doing the same thing- flowers for just the wedding party. Our venue will be decorated for the holidays and I certainly didn't want to compete with the hall. So we've settled on smaller centerpieces with just candles and some greenery similar to this one.

That's pretty. We will probably have rustic lanterns on the tables similar to the ones on the mantle pic you posted. Best of luck with your wedding and you future together!

Ignore what others think and do exactly what you have envisioned for YOUR wedding. As long as your FH agrees with your decisions, that’s all that matters. And I think your idea about not wanting to take away from your venue’s simple beauty is a great one! Sometimes less is more. 🥰

Thanks y'all. I love the venue the way it is. Plus cut flowers have always made me a little sad. I hate to see them wilting and dying. Even though money is not why i don't want them, it does seem like a waste of money to have huge floral centerpieces that nobody will remember anyway. I may add a little baby's breath if I feel it necessary.

You keep doing you! Don’t get floral for decorations if you don’t want them. I’ve been numerous weddings where they had floral, it was cute and fitting for the venue. I’ve been to weddings where they didn’t have floral decorations and were just as cute and adorable. Stick with what you like. It will be gorgeous no matter what you pick.

The only floral in my wedding is my bouquet, the bridesmaids flower, boutonnières, and the mom’s wrist corsages. I’m glad I don’t have other flowers. I like my style and won’t have to worry about the beautiful floral displays going to waste or trying to figure out what to do with them.

Ignore them. We are not doing flowers either besides the bouquets and boutonnieres. We are having non floral centerpieces, and fake greenery here and there. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on flowers that I can only enjoy for a day. Don't get me wrong, I looove flowers. But I just can't personally justify this.

We aren’t doing flowers at the ceremony and everyone gave me that reaction and I replied “I think the church we are using is pretty enough on its own” the first florist that I went to laughed at me when I said that 😒. So of course my reaction was “You know, I don’t know if you can help me,” and walked out. And if we had chosen the first venue to have our reception at we wouldn’t have gotten floral decor for that either because it was a rustic venue and had its own decor and charm. So don’t worry what everyone else thinks you do you! Good luck and congrats!

We are also only doing flowers for the bridal party. Our centerpieces are rustic and feature a wood round with some Moss and a couple of rustic/antique type bottles and a candle. Yes it is cheaper than getting flowers but it's not like there's some kind of wedding law requiring you to use flowers for any of it. Lol Go with what you invision. It's YOUR day!

The chapel is adorable. Just do what makes you feel comfortable. It will be a lovely day.
