Flowers on every table?

Future Mrs. Hall, on October 24, 2017 at 7:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

Hey all,

I'm considering putting flowers on every other table at the reception. The tables with flowers will have a big display and the tables without flowers will have floating candles and colored water in the vase centerpieces.

Is that too cheap looking? I've heard of people doing that and it's a ton less expensive but I don't know if it will compromise the look of the decor.

We're alternating flowers andnlanterns with fairy lights. I think it looks fine as long as there is something cohesive about it- like the candles are the same color.

If I were going to do that, I would want to make sure that the two different centerpieces were about the same size, scale and impact.

The way you worded it, suggested that you are going to have a large floral arrangement on half the tables and very basic colored water centerpieces on the other tables.

Instead of larger centerpieces at some, why not smaller at all of them? You don't want to seem like some tables are "preferred" to others.

Ahh, good advice. I'll just have the same centerpieces on every table to avoid confusion or any feelings of feeling snubbed. Thanks all!

Since you are getting married in June, Hydrangeas should be in season and they can enlarge a floral centerpiece at a lower cost.

I did half pumpkins with flowers and half baskets of apples. Also the baskets were a mix of stuff we already owned and a few we bought, so they didn't all match. I loved the way it looked, coordinated but eclectic.

I don't think anyone will care if their table has flowers on it or not.

We did a combination of three different centerpieces. Some had a lantern with flowers around it, some had a trio of vases with floating candles and scant loose flowers surrounding it and then 6 tables had two vases with floating candles and then a vase for a bm bouquet.

I think it would look very nice! We personally aren't doing any flowers for our centerpieces.

I agree about the hydrangeas and getting a bigger look with less flowers. However, they are pretty fragile flowers, so they do wilt easily in the summer once cut. I would definitely make sure you research how hardy they are, and how to keep them fresh looking for a June wedding.
