Hi all, quick question about flowers for our church ceremony. I was wondering what types of arrangements people have purchased for their church ceremonies, and the cost. I would go with something simple due to budget. I'm just not sure where to start. Is that something that can be DIY'ed? Or is it worth saving the time and just purchasing arrangements from a florist?

Our florist suggested large potted mums for the church. My church is beautiful to begin with so it doesn't need much. And the mums are super inexpensive.

Ask your church for who does their normal Sunday flowers and ask if they could deliver the typical altar flowers the day before. You could pay for those, use them for your wedding, then leave them so the church has flowers for services on Sunday!
Or yes, if you want something simple you could DIY. Grocery stores have really pretty arrangements for under $20. Find a vase you like and you're done! Most churches don't need much.

I did my flowers myself & it was alot if work but, I saved a ton doing it! Fiftyflowers.com is where I ordered from. Be aware that you'll have to put everything together the day before.

Thanks for the ideas everybody. I'm planning to DIY the centerpiece flowers anyway, so I figure I'll just order extra flowers and make a couple of extra arrangements for the church.

Sorry, I can't be of help. My church requires all wedding flower decorations be done by one specific florist that falls in the $$$$ category on every wedding info site.

I'm going without.
