Flowers for Bridal Portraits?

Katie, on June 17, 2019 at 12:34 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

I just scheduled my bridal portraits for August and I'm wondering if I'm supposed to have a bouquet for then? I'm worried it may be a little difficult because some of the flowers I'm planning to use in my wedding day bouquet are seasonal so I'm not sure the florist would be able to do it a month and a half before.

I would get a bouquet, even if it’s different flowers from what you’ll have on your wedding day. I feel like I’d feel a bit awkward posing alone with nothing to do with my hands haha. I didn’t do a separate day of “bridal portraits” but I did some individual shots in my suite before the ceremony, and my bouquet was a big part of all those photos

Couldn't you put together a mock bouquet, using artificial flowers? Then you could probably use the same ones you'll have for your actual bouquet, since artificial never goes out of season.

I got an exact replica of my bouquet, for $100, for my bridal portraits. I felt like it was important to have everything exactly like it's going to be on the day of.

I thought about this, but I'm not 100% sure what it will look like. I can probably check with my florist to see what they think.

I think I'm leaning towards this if my florist can do it. I'm also planning to have everything the exact same as wedding where possible. Hopefully it will work out!

That's a good point! Lol I didn't think about that but it probably would be awkward.
