Flower preservation

Kelly, on October 11, 2022 at 8:44 PM Posted in Planning 0 4
Hi! Just married yesterday! I didn’t even think about preserving my flowers. We are driving a long ways so they won’t hold up for drying at home. I want to ship to etsy seller to put in a frame. Anyone know how to ship it and make sure they are not just tossed around in a box? UPS and fed ex have no clue. I hate to ship it and have it ruined after overnighting it cost wise and after paying someone $200 up front to preserve them.

Congratulations on your recent wedding!! Bouquet preservation is so beautiful and a great keepsake, awesome that you're having that done! I also had my bouquet preserved, but it was through a local company, so I didn't have to ship the flowers. I did a quick Google search, and found this article from FedEx on how to ship flowers: https://www.fedex.com/en-us/shipping/how-to-ship-flowers-and-plants.html Best wishes, let us know how it turns out! Do you have a photo of what the bouquet will look similar to after it's preserved?

I am going to keep looking local. We are on the road and have days of driving ahead. Etsy makes some like the one I am attaching and I like the idea. I will let you know how it turns out if I ship it. Flower preservation 1

That makes sense! And wow, that is a beautiful bouquet preservation! I'd love to see how it turns out once you get it back. I found the shop that preserved my bouquet through a Facebook wedding group for local weddings ("[city/area name] brides"). If you're in any of those types of Facebook groups, put a post out there, stating that you're looking for a local company to do bouquet preservation! You could also put a post in the local groups here on these forums to see if anyone in your state has recommendations.

There's a ton of videos on Youtube on how to package flowers for shipping! I can't find the one I watched, but basically the idea from that one was to wrap wet paper towels around the stems, stick the wrapped stems in a ziplock and close the bag around the stems so the water doesn't leak all over (maybe use 2 bags just to be safe), then gently roll the flowers into some craft paper. You'll then fill the box halfway with newspaper, tape an ice pack (also in a ziplock to prevent leaking) to the side of the box the flower stems will be on, then place the flowers in, add another layer of newspaper, and tape off the box.

I asked one of my bridesmaids to ship mine the next morning since we're leaving super early, so I'm hoping they make it okay!
