Flower petal aisle

Latonya, on August 31, 2019 at 10:05 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 14
Ok I am trying to make a flower petal aisle with out breaking the bank. I looked at buying from Sam's club but its $60 for only 3000 petals. I would need 16,000 to create a full runner. Any ideas on how I could make this happen?

Amazon would have a ton of petals for much cheaper but you'd have to peel them yourself

You can buy fake flower petal aisle runners from places like Etsy for probably $100 or so less than that. They look great and the petals wont be squished into the ground after everyone else walks on them before you.

Is it ok to put silk rose petals on grass? It won't blow away?

The petals are all attached into one big aisle runner, so you wouldn't have to worry about individual petals blowing away. Here is an example.

I would be concern of the wind if you plan on having an outdoor wedding. Fake petals weight less than real petals but even with the real ones you have to to be careful.

Agree about wind and the fact that as soon as anyone walks on an aisle of loose petals, it's going to look messy. Also, if you haven't yet, be sure you've checked with your venue about what they allow. Thousands of loose polyester petals are going to be a huge pain to clean up, but leaving them behind is littering, so many venues do not allow them at all. Real petals are biodegradable, but many venues don't allow them either because they can stain surfaces and creating a slipping hazard. If you want to do this, and it's okay with your venue, I agree with others who suggested a runner manufactured with an attached layer of fake petals. (But, I'd still check with your venue because some don't allow runners because they pose a tripping hazard and/or potentially damage grass, etc.) They look beautiful in photos, but like so many Pinterest-worthy wedding ideas are much more challenging in reality. Good luck! Smiley heart

The only way I see you getting it for the cheapest price possible is to DIY it. Personally, the amount of work it would take would not be worth it to me but being a huge crafter, I would suggest looking for bulk petals on Amazon, Oriental Trading, Etsy etc then buying a large roll of the non slip drawer liner stuff to use as the backing. You will probably need to sew each petal on the backing to make sure it is secure enough. You could hot glue it but they may pop off. Good luck!

Thanks! I estimate it will take 3 to 4 days to complete with hot glue. I am not afraid of a little work. Its $300 on etsy.....only $60 to make myself. I will get the photographer to take good pictures of it during the ceremony. I just don't like a bland boring decor.

This is awesome! I wanted something for my aisle since my venue doesn't allow anything to be thrown on the ground - especially something artificial. I'm not sure what my flower girl will be tossing but these runners are a great idea!

This is what my aisle runner looks like. I got it from Walmart for $58. I know they had other colours too. They were on sale in July when I got it but worth looking into!
