Flower girls and ring bearer

on August 18, 2019 at 3:58 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7
How many of each will you have?
i have a daughter, she will be the main flower girl but I also have my FH niece and my baby sister that is 9 that I would like to include.
Would 3 be too many? Possibly 4 because I am pregnant and not sure of the gender until birth.
For the ring bearer I have my FH nephew and my baby bother that is the twin of my sister aged 9. If the new baby is a boy he will be the main ring bearer.
Would 3 be too many?

I thought about having my kids only as each but what if this baby isn’t a boy? Then I have to pick between my baby brother and FH nephew and I don’t want to do that.

I’m not sure how close to your wedding your due date is but can you wait to decide till after you have your baby? I don’t think 3 is too many if that’s what you want. You could also have the 9 year old be an usher and a junior bridesmaid. Congrats, such an exciting time for you!

It’s definitely tough to decide, I don’t think there is ever too much or little of anything. It’s your special day and you should choose as you see fit. FH and I don’t have children together yet but between the two of us we have 7 nieces and nephews, all of our nieces are older and all of the nephews will be between 1-2 at the time we’re married so we made the decision to just have our nieces in the wedding, after also discussing it with their parents and making sure they have no issues finding a baby sitter etc... We are also not having any other children at the wedding other than those in our wedding.

Something to consider also is a “junior bridesmaid” my oldest niece will be 13 when we get married so I’m having her as a junior bridesmaid and then the other 3 girls will all be flower girls.

I have one ring bearer (my 2 year old son) and one flower girl (my best friends daughter, 4). My 5 year old son will be a junior groomsman and my 11 year old niece will be a junior bridesmaid. But that’s how I wanted it. I think if you want 3 of each, then go for it! You could also switch it up and have some of them carry a sign, if you feel like you may have too many. My flower girl and ring bearer will walk down the aisle together so that she can guide my 2 year old in the right direction lol.

Thanks for the advice ladies! I think I’ll do a junior bridesmaid and junior groomsmen, that is a great idea 😊

It's definitely up to you how many of each you want. I'm having 2 flower girls and 2 ring bearers. They're my best friends kids who I see and love as my nieces and nephews. I couldn't imagine not having them in my wedding.

I’ll be having my three nieces as flower girls and my nephew as a ring bearer. It’s whoever you want more than any thought to what numbers are appropriate!

I had 3 flower girls (11, 9, and 7) and 1 ring bearer (3). They were siblings and their mom was one of my bridesmaids.
