Flower girl

I have an issue or concern and dont have the slightest clue in how to go about it. My fiancé and I have 2 girls. At the time of the wedding they will be 10 and 12 years old. We dont have another other children that will be a part of the wedding. My fiancé has 7 groomsmen and I have 5 bridesmaids. At first I thought of having my oldest(fiances daughter) be a junior bridesmaids and have my daughter be the “little bride” . Then i thought and said that the oldest would feel left out in a way bc she wouldnt be wearing white as well. Then I said maybe I could just have them both be in white and one throw rose petals and the other hold the rings. The problem is I’ve been reading online and it states that flower girls should be from the ages of 2-8 and 8 is pushing it. With that being said Please help.

My 11 year old niece is going to be a junior bridesmaid. Why not have both girls as junior bridesmaids??

There is no age limit on being a flower girl or a junior bridesmaid. Just give them both the same title. Maybe ask them which role they’d prefer?

So my FH and I have three girls...my step girls but mine none the less. By the time of the wedding they will be 11, 10, 8. They rather be flower girls they said but I know they are older so I decided to not do basic white flower girl dresses. My bridesmaids are wearing a two piece skirt and top set...top being floral print and bottom being a blue. So I got my kiddos dresses that have the exact floral print the older two are in the same and my youngest in a slightly different but still same print...just cause she's so tiny she didn't fit in the junior BM sizes for the other dress. They will walk down like regular flower girls but will stand up with us if they want to like a bridesmaid

There is no age limit on flower girls, pages, or ring bearers. But only the very youngest get dressed sometimes like little brides or little Cinderella's. Your daughters should be dressed like preteens, whatever you call them. The littlest ones usually end up with adults playing to their cuteness, ridiculous fairy and bride gowns sometimes, pulled in little wagons with ribbons. Your girls are old enough to want a little dignity, and imitate the women, except they should not have bare or sexualized styles, nothing bare, plunging, slit. I have seen many older flower girls take the extra role of holding the bride's bouquet ( step up, take to seat or a stand, be seated.) And boys can do flowers too.

My preference is for older flower girls say 6-11 years old or so. I have 3 flower girls who will be 8 and 10 years old at the time of the wedding. I don't really think 8 is a maximum age, and really anyone who wants to throw petals, is qualified to be a flower girl.

The 12 year old may not want to be a flower girl and they'd much rather be a junior bridesmaid, and perhaps you could dress her similar to the bridesmaids, though age appropriate. Still if she wants to wear white, let her be a flower girl. I have a junior bridesmaid who will be 12, and she categorically ruled out being a flower girl.

It’s your wedding and i don’t think anyone would look at you crazy for having them be flower girls...

I put my fiancé's niece in my wedding as a junior bridesmaid, and she will be 11 at the time of our wedding. I think you should put both as junior bridesmaids (if you wanted to, of course).

If you don't have anyone else in mind for a flower girl or ring bearer, I think it would be ok to do away with that. My friend had a wedding last May and didn't have either one. It looked fine. It's your wedding, do what you want!

There is no age limit for flower girls or ring bearers. My flower girls were 11, 9, and 7.
