Flower girl website...Are they good?

TeamEJ2009, on February 17, 2017 at 7:10 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

Hi everyone,

I really need some help on these flower girl websites I am seeing that seem too good to be true, especially DH Gate. I have seen dresses on there for $70 when in reality the dress is $450 on another website (Sophia Couture). Same goes with Etsy. Are these real websites or just in it to get your money? I looked for reviews and I can't seem to find any.

Edit: Please ignore the wedding date on my profile.

Etsy is legit, but Etsy is made up of independent sellers (like Amazon) so you have to read reviews carefully. I can't speak for DH Gate, I was looking at veils and headpieces there so I'd be interested to know as well. ETA: I've never had a bad experience with a purchase on Etsy, but I also always carefully read the shop's reviews. The few times I did take chances though, I was never disappointed. I use Etsy for a number of different things, about half of which I'd say is wedding related.

DH Gate, Light in the Box (or something like that) and JJs House are definite scam sites.

I have heard good things about a few Etsy shops for flower girl dresses but I'm sure it depends on the shop! NicolettesCouture is one of them. I would stay away from the online ones like DHgate and JJshouse. We lucked out and were able to find a super cute flower girl dress in the toddler section at target!

If you can't find reviews on a particular seller I'd stay away that's a red flag. Etsy is definitely a real site but as a previous user stated you have to read the reviews.

I got my headpiece from JJs site, and I received it. Why is it a scam site? LOL now I'm nervous.

@AugustBride- I think the quality is something questionable. Like with AliExpress, I've ordered stuff from there and it's been great! But I've seen tons of people, brides even who ordered their wedding from them, who have ordered clothes and received shitty quality that did not match the image posted at all.

@FutureMrsWelch, oh ok. My headpiece will be in my hair and I spent $16 lol. I couldn't see spending $50+ on that, it just wasn't important to me. Thanks for the answer Smiley smile

Sites like DH gate are Chinese ripoff sites. They steal designer works, copy it, and use very low quality materials. I would not recommend using them.

@lacher have you received your dress yet?

Dh gate, lightinthebox, ericdress ...all spam Chinese rip off sites ..ETSY .... can't trust trust one woman, working on the kitchen table to get it on time. I've had great dresses from www.pegeen.com, Joan Calabrese Couture (not the label for Mon Cherie, Isabelle Garreton and www.fattiepie.com. my daughter's in lots of weddings...11 sisters and mines the only niece....so she's a pro.. and pink princess...too plastic like. TheKnot.com is a great resource lots of US manufacturers there listed.

Sorry for the duplication. Wanted to add: how do u know they are rip off sites? Well, for one, the pix look all different like differerent styles of photos that's a real tip off. Second, their prices are all funky, like 43.26 and 74.87 .... definately sign. Read bridesbeware.com as it will scare the gown off you.

Do not, I repeat, do not order anything from this company. I did, and am thankful that I have time to find another solution. I ordered two flower girl dresses from fattie pie. The pictures on their site look incredible, but trust me, what you receive is nothing like the photos. The quality is terrible. The dresses look white on the site but are ivory. The dresses look like they were hand made, which sounds nice, but I mean hand made by a novice, where the dress is sewn inproperly. The straps aren’t the same size and the stitching throughout the dress doesn’t match. I am not a seamstress, but definitely know enough to say, “look somewhere else and do not use this company!” I wish I asked for a previous customers opinion before I placed my order. Don’t make the same mistake I did, you will regret it.
