What is the rule of thumb when it comes to who pays for the flower girl and ring bearer attire?

Typically the parents of the flower girl or ring bearer would purchase the outfits, unless you’re requiring something crazy. I’m going to gift mine, which is also an option.

It can go either way. I didn't pay for my ring bearer and flower girl attire but I let the parents choose it themselves. I had 3 flower girls and they chose a dress from Amazon that was 20 dollars. I also didn't dictate shoes. I did pay for their hair to be done professionally along with a gift. Although, I didn't require hair, I just knew they would love to have it done lol. I didn't dictate my ring bearers outfit. My aunts chose shorts and button down shirts. I bought them bowties and suspenders. I think all the kids wore shoes they already had. Here's some pics my mom took.

It's been my experience that their parents pay... I'm only having a RB BUT I'm his mom so I'm paying anyway. 🤣

There’s no real rule here. We aren’t having a ring bearer, but we’re paying for both of our flower girl’s dresses. If anyone else in our party was under 18, we would pay for their attire as well.

In my experience, the parents pay. But I’m sure the parents would appreciate it if you’d like to gift the children their attire.

We're hoping to keep it simple. I like the idea about gifting it, thanks for the idea!

I’m keeping it simple too! We have 4 little nieces who are going to be our flower girls so that’s a lot of dresses for me! So I’m making tulle skirts for them and getting them different tops to wear with them. It’s a much cheaper alternative to buying on Etsy! If you’re into DIY, tulle skirts are really easy and cheap to make and there are a ton of really easy no-sew tutorials on YouTube and Pinterest.

They’re so adorable! And that’s such a cute idea to have them get pampered too! I bet they loved it!

Love that idea! I'm definitely going to look into it. Our flower girl will only be 16 months so I didn't want to get too crazy with her outfit

I'm paying for my flower girls dresses and ring bearers outfits, I'm gifting it to them. I have 2 of each.
