Flower girl not matching bride

Arianna, on February 21, 2021 at 1:44 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 22
Hey ladies!! So I’m going to just jump right in, I found a dress that matches my wedding colors for my flower girl (light blue and silver) but is it odd to have a flower girl to not match the bride? Does anyone have pictures of them not matching? I can’t incision them not matching but love the dress so much. Thanks girls!!

I have never been to a wedding where the flower girl matched the bride! But that is just my experience.

Yup! I think whatever you decide, the flower girl will look adorable! Especially if she matches the wedding colors.

While all of the weddings I've attended have had flower girls wear white, they definitely don't have to! Plenty of people on this forum have had flower girls not match the bride. It sounds like your flower girl dress will match your wedding color scheme anyway, so that plan seems ideal. I'd go for it and I'm sure she will look adorable!

I've only ever seen the flowergirl match the bride one time and all guests said it was over the top. Honestly I wouldn't worry about it.

This is a cultural/ ethnic thing. I amd the people I come from find it disgusting when a young girl is dresses like a bride especially including a little veil. ( women, nun's wearing modest white dresses and veils as brides of Christ, as some do, equally NO. Let children wear party dresses of bright fun clothes appropriate for little girls. Not highly sexualized pageant gowns or bridesmaid gowns on younger children, either.

Wow interesting. She’s wearing a crown with me but I wouldn’t let her wear a veil. I always saw flower girl matching me until today when I found the dress that made me rethink it all.

I'm with Paige. I've never seen the flower girl match the bride. My niece was was flower girl in my wedding and a close family friends. For my wedding she wore a blush and gold dress, and then she wore a navy dress with a floral pattern for the other. Typically, I've seen flower girls coordinate with the bridesmaid dresses/wedding colors, not the bride.

That is what I’ve seen the most. If the bridesmaids were wearing burgundy, the flower girl wore pink with burgundy accents. If the bridesmaids wore blue, flower girl wore a light blue dress with dark blue accents.

They looked coordinated with the bridal party, not the bride!

I don't think the flower girl needs to match. I think she will look just as cute in a different dress.

Totally agree- The flower girl doesn’t have to match the bride! The 1st dress we found for our flower girl was pink. A couple months later I found another dress from a bride (on here) that was selling her flower girl dresses as she had to reschedule her wedding & the girls would have grown out of them. Her dress is white with little flowers on them- nothing like my gray dress!
