Flower girl limitations at church

Heather, on November 21, 2018 at 6:58 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 12
We are marrying at the Cathedral of Mary our Queen in Maryland, which is a landmark, and had limitations on tossing anything down the aisle. My niece was set to be our flower girl, but I do not know what her "job" would be since she cannot toss petals. Anybody else experience a similar situation? What would you suggest I have her do if she cannot toss anything?

I'm going to have my girls just hold little flower balls. I've also seen where you give them their own mini bouquets.

I have never been to a wedding where the flower girl actually throws petals. I’d say carrying a flower basket is most typical , but those flower wands pp posted are pretty cute !

I actually think it is uncommon for the flower girl to actually throw petals (a lot of places don't allow that). I would just get her a nice bouquet and have her walk down the aisle.

They have really cute signs on Etsy that say like here comes the bride, or other cute things they can carry

Most places don't allow petals or other items to be thrown anymore. I would have her hold some sort of flower arrangement. Maybe in a basket, or on a hoop, or the wand is a cute idea.

How darling! Are the flowers real? What was the cost?

Our venue doesn't allow anything to be thrown unless we pick it up 100%. I didn't want the stress of that, so we aren't. I'm thinking our flower girl will either carry a cute sign that says "here she comes!" or something, or a bouquet of flowers and she can hand out the flowers to guests!

One venue we wanted didn't allow flower petals (real or fake) to be tossed and when I was considering that venue I thought of an alternate option such as her passing out single roses as she walked down the isle

Daughter's FGs (ages 9 and 4) will have miniature versions of the bridesmaids' bouquets. They'll walk down the aisle with their RB brothers, then all four kids will sit in the second row with their dad (mom is a BM). The venue actually allows petals, but we've seen that not go well, so D chose bouquets.

My church also will not allow the throwing of flower petals. She is going to get a small silk bouquet and just look cute (which she will cause shes 3). Im going to buy bubbles so when we walk out of the church she can do that along with guests
