Flower girl but no bridal party.

Rissachu, on January 13, 2018 at 1:27 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 13

Hi guys! I was wondering if you think it would be weird and/or awkward to have absolutely no bridal party at all except a flower girl? Like, I would just have her walk down the with the flowers, and then I'd walk myself and that's it. Or do you think if I'm not having a bridal party, that I should forego the flower girl all together and make it more uniform?

Thanks for the advice in advance!

Would she stand up there with you after you both walk down? I would say go for it. I'm sure she would love the memory of being a flower girl (mine is so over the moon to do it) but it's all on you.

She'll be at an age, at the time of my wedding, where I am not certain she'd have the attention span to stand up there. So I am probably going to have her sit down with her mother (my FSIL) once she gets down the aisle.

I think it would be wonderful! I loveeee flower girls at weddings - so cute. I would just have her throw her petals and then she can sit on front row instead of just standing next to you - it might look funny without bp, so I’d just have her sit by somebody...

That’s a great idea. It’s your day. You can do anything you want. 👍🏻

This day in age - anything goes.

    Good luck.

I think it's totally fine! I would have her sit with her mom though.

That’s what I’m doing. No bridal party, but my cousin’s kids will be the flower girl & ring bearer

That’s what I’m having. We don’t have a bridal party. My brother is escorting in my mom. My FH is walking in with his mom. Then our FG. Then me with my dad. She’ll be 6 and didn’t want to even throw petals haha. She’s carrying a pomander and wearing a matching flower crown and will go sit with her mom & Dad.

Doing the exact same! No bridesmaids or groomsmen... just flower girls. I love the idea of having sole attention on my fiancé and I, but with the sweet and lovely accompaniment of little flower girls ❤️

My daughter did that. My sister got married and all she wanted up there was my daughter and son. They were about 5 and 7. They stood with them for the vows like a wedding party would. The didn't move a muscle. It was on a pirate ship though, so they weren't bored.

I don't have a bridal party but I'm having my 8 and 4 year old nieces as flower girls. I don't know what they'll do after they walk down the aisle but I guess we'll have two open seats for them in the front row and the older one can make her sister walk over and sit.

I think that would be adorable! There aren't any rules about having a bridal party so you do whatever feels right!
