Flower crowns for bridesmaids?

Sarah, on December 10, 2018 at 5:11 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 9

Hi all Smiley smile

I am wondering if any of you have done flower crowns for your bridesmaids. I always thought they were a bit clichéd but we want our wedding to feel natural and laid-back so maybe they will be a nice touch. I am wondering what people's experiences were - were they too much of a hassle or did they really add to your day? I am thinking something simple with greenery and wax flowers maybe, so hopefully they won't be too expensive... I only have 4 bridesmaids. Just for extra context, our wedding is August 10 with the ceremony in a church and (hopefully) outdoor reception. I am planning on having a floral piece at the back of my hair with my veil attached - not a crown though.

Thanks!

Hey Sarah. Personally I love flower 🌸 crowns but it’s up to you. Have you discussed this with your ladies and asked what they thought?

I love them. I'm having my florist bring several kinds of small loose flowers and letting the girls put some in their hair when the stylist does it if they want to, then I'm thinking a flower crown for our flower girl.

I wore a flower crown. My florist made it like a headband so I could place it how I wanted. She used fresh flowers, berries and greenery and it cost $60. She made similar flower crowns for my flower girls and they were $15 each.

    Hey Sarah!

I think flower crowns for your bridesmaids are a beautiful idea! I totally think they'll capture that laid-back and natural vibe you're going for! You could also check Etsy for some options if you wanted alternative options to real flowers! Any particular types of flowers you're leaning towards using for the flower crowns?!

Honestly, that seems like something I would ask my bridesmaids if they feel comfortable with wearing. I have seen this normally for flower girls and brides. So if you have to spend more $$ on this, I would ask their opinion so that it's not a total waste of money.

Thanks Rebecca! I'm thinking just olive branches with white wax flowers to keep it simple. I love Etsy! Unfortunately any faux flower things I've seen on there are a bit pricey...

Thanks for the input everyone! I've asked the girls and they all like the idea! I'll talk to my florist. The only thing is I know they can be time-consuming to make and can't really be made too far in advance since you can't put them in water. She is also my decorator and will be busy doing that too so I'll see if she thinks it's feasible Smiley smile
