Flower Crown with Ballgown

Weslie, on March 19, 2016 at 12:55 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

I'm getting married in the fall in a meadow and it has a rustic feel. Originally I was going to wear a sheathe dress and a floral crown, but then I fell in love with a ball gown (which I thought was definitely not my style). It's not SUPER elegant-it's ruffled and has stripes all over it (I'm obsessed with stripes). But that completely changes the theme, I feel, and I can't change the venue but I still want the flower crown. Can I incoperate that with my dress? I have a matching veil...People have been saying it's possible to pair a veil and a flower crown together but I just want to know if a flower crown can go with a casual, fun ball gown? My dress is attached below:

It's your day and I think you can wear a flower crown if you want to! Try doing some trials and see if you like it. Maybe you can have the best of both worlds and do something with flowers in your hair without a flower crown if you decide you don't like it.

I love what Erin posted! That picture would go gorgeous with your dress. I'm not a fan of flower crowns, unless it on a little girl. It's a total fad to me.

I'm not a fan honestly, but it's your day. I don't think it would look wrong, but it might look a bit casual....

I think a flower crown would look ridiculous with your dress. It's doable with a ruffly ballgown but with the stripes? That's where you lost me.

Just do some trials and see what you like. Ultimately it's up to you.

I've really only seen flower crowns done with sheath or narrow silhouette dresses. I like the picture erin suggested!

I think it could be done. However I think that it'd have to be thin with greenery and small flowers. I don't think a ball gown automatically means a flower crown wouldn't go with it. The style of the dress itself does seem a bit more modern which is why I don't think large colorful flowers would work. You could always ask the florist for a trial one, it shouldn't be too expensive and then you could try it on together and see what you think.

I think it'll look good. That HP dress was my second choice, it's so pretty.

I love that dress! I think flowers in your hair would look better than a flower crown with that dress.

I'm going threw the same thing! I fell in love with a pink mermaid dress that won't go with my flower crown! Panic mode activated!
