Flower Crown vs Flower Comb

MizzzCara, on September 14, 2016 at 1:32 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 29

I'm having a problem - a very small problem but I still need help.

I want to do some type of flower accessory for my hair. I keep going back and forth between a flower crown or just a flower comb. Obv you wouldn't see a comb in pictures so I'm kind of unsure if I should even bother ? But then I don't know if I could pull a crown off!

Does anyone have pictures of themselves with a crown? Or does anyone have any words of advice? I suck at making decisions.

I think the flower crown has started to become to butt of some jokes. I'd go with a flower comb

I was in a bridal store yesterday and they had some pretty flower crowns that looked real! It is a popular chain store so I am sure you could try some on and see what it would look like.

Or you could go to the craft store and get some inexpensive fakes and make one Just to get an idea what it would look like.

Yeah it would definitely help if I could try some on. I've been looking on etsy for them.

I guess another problem I'm having is not knowing how to coordinate with my bouquet. I don't want whatever I choose for my hair to be too much with my bouquet.

I am having a flower crown. My florist is making it. Size wise, its going to be in between these two. Basic ivy for the crown and then 4 garden roses and baby roses in the back with ribbon hanging.

So those are her pictures? Lol they are beautiful pictures but wasn't sure if they were of her.

I found one on etsy that lets you make your own crown which I'm thinking might be better so I can kind of arrange them the way I want.

I think a lot of it depends on the vibe of your wedding and your dress. If you are going for a more laid back, boho wedding definitely do flower crown! Otherwise, I'd maybe stick to the comb!

@BeachyLauren I love that! So a little detail on the front and most in the back? I was thinking of doing something like that but my hair will be up.

@FizzFuzz That's beautiful but I know for sure I can't pull something like that off! You rocked it, though!

I guess I should add it's a rustic, laid back sort of feel.

I'd lean more towards a flower comb because that seems more understated and not like "hey I'm wearing a centerpiece on my head". However, I love the one in Beachy Lauren's picture.

Thank you. I wanted it bigger but it would have been too heavy w/ the fresh flowers. (It was half fresh, half fake).

So this is my bouquet inspiration. I'm not sure if I am going to buy this exact one - i get a fresh flower bouquet included with my venue but either way this is what it will look like more or less :

    From etsy of course

This is what I was thinking about for the crown. It's a DIY so I was thinking I could maybe add less to it if it was too much. What are your thoughts?

    Also from etsy.

But then the shop that has the bouquet that I love also has crowns and this one seems to go :

I also think I want a flower crown. Going for a boho feel, barefoot on the sand.

I like the flower crown in the middle. It's pretty and goes with the bouquet!

ETA: I wore one for my engagement shoot.
