Flower crown: Fake or fresh flowers?

Camille and CB, on June 10, 2015 at 2:38 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6

Hello! I've decided to wear a flower crown with low veil for our lakeside wedding. I'm still debating whether or not I should get a fake flower crown or use fresh flowers. What are your thoughts on fake flowers (I'm leaning towards this). Will it look cheap? What will be your reaction (if you're a guest in a wedding) in seeing this on a bride? Thank you for your thoughts!

Personally if it were me doing this I would go with fake. I would be worried about crushing or damaging the flowers while creating the crown and then trying to figure out how to keep them fresh for the wedding sounds a bit stressful for me.

As for looking cheap or not that will come down to the quality of silk flowers you choose but I found this tutorial where she used silk flowers and it definitely didn't look cheap to me

I am typically all about real flowers, but I'd be concerned about them making it all day without water. It's not like a bouquet that you can plunk in a vase of water when you're not carrying it. Maybe talk to your florist about flower varieties that are less likely to wilt?

In August? I'd go with fake. They could wilt and come apart over the course of the day and look kind of funny at the end.

I'm doing dried flowers. It's a good compromise because they still smell amazing and look nice, but they won't wilt in the sun! I'll attach pics of mine & daughters crowns.
