Flower cone

Cindy, on March 12, 2019 at 11:31 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 4

After the ceremony we plan on doing petal toss and have them in cones. But should I give all 115 of my guest a cone or should I just place them with people on the isle? Also, I went out and bought fake petals but I didn't realize how would they get cleaned up so should I get dried petals?

If you get dried petals, you still may have to get them cleaned up..depending on the venue I suppose. As far as the amount of flower cones, I'd take into consideration your budget and how "Grand" you want the petal toss to be. The more people that have flower cones, the more grand it will be. However, you also risk your guests getting petals thrown on them, which may or may not go over well (depends on your crowd). Just having them at the end of the aisles would potentially prevent the previous concern, and it'll still be efficient enough for pictures, etc.

I'd ask your venue about throwing things (what's allowed/what isn't) because mine has it spelled out what they allow outdoors even. I wouldn't make enough for all my guests, I'd do maybe 50 at most and make it a little more first come, first served as far as getting a cone and being able to throw the petals.

Double check with your venue about throwing things to make sure it's ok. I know a lot of venues won't let you throw anything that isn't biodegradable. Then I'd look into real petals or dried petals if they have to be biodegradable.

I'd probably only get cones for the people sitting in the aisle, you want the petals thrown on you, not other guests. Some guests may not be happy to have petals thrown all over them, or they may have allergies, etc. For picture purposes you really only need those in the aisle to throw them.

So I am not throwing petals but I want petals to line the aisles with lanterns. I too thought if they should be freeze dried, but if the venue has a wedding the next day it would still more than likely need to be cleaned up no matter what. Having mine just lining the aisle will be easier than all tossed around ones so I would definitely double check with your venue on their rules!
