Flower children/ring bearer

Michelle, on January 6, 2020 at 12:37 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 2
So this is dumb drama. Most of our families are very conservative. Groom thinks now we need to be more traditional. We have 2 flower girls (6 and 7) and a ring bearer (6) who are all siblings. The older girl and ring bearer have decided they want to switch jobs. The flower girls will have ribbon wands. So now I've got a boy and girl waving ribbons, or all 3. Groom is stressed. I can tell the parents to force gender roles but I feel like the kids may get upset and I'm having a hard time caring, but don't know what to do. I'm sure his parents will care. Help!

You don't absolutely need a child to carry the rings, they can be stashed with an adult member of the wedding party. I would just give all three children wands and call them "attendants" if you have a program.

This sounds like a great middle ground.
