Flower baby?

Nicole, on February 8, 2018 at 7:43 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 17
Has anyone had a flower girl that’s still just a baby? One of our closest friends has a little girl who we love very much, but she’ll only be around 1 on our wedding day. Has anyone else done this?

I haven't seen this done, but other posters have discussed it before. Some have suggested the parent hold them and walk down the aisle with the petals as well. I could see giving the flower girl a few petals to hold as really cute! Of course make sure they're non toxic to babies before doing that.

It would depend on the child, by 1 she should be walking but maybe not long distances, and also depends on her stranger aniexty and her comfort in wherever your ceremony is. She could potentially wall down on her own but to prevent a melt down someone might want to walk with her

Our daughter will only be about 1 and a half when we get married but we are going to have her as our flower girl, along with my son from a previous relationship as a ring bearer who is 5. He is going to escort his sister down the aisle and make sure she doesn’t go rogue on the way Smiley smile lol. Will use the wagon idea if need be

My niece will be 9 months old at the time of the wedding. She'll be more of an honorary flower girl. Like someone already mentioned, I'm having her mother carry her down the aisle.

At my aunt wedding my neice was the flower girl, about a year old. And her mom who was also a bridesmaid walked with her. She was good through most of it though, than started crying and she and the baby had to step out.

Our flower girl will be almost two at our wedding. I am going to get a little wagon and decorate it with flowers and have one of the bridesmaids or her mother wheel her down the aisle.

When my SIL’s sister got married my twin nice and nephew were 10 months old. They “walked” down the isle on a wagon. It was super cute and they behaved really well.

My youngest is 13 months old and doesn’t walk. I mean, she takes steps, but she couldn’t make it across the living room, let alone down an aisle. My older one walked easily by 10 months though. I think you just need to have a plan that doesn’t include this little girl walking max

We are doing this! Our niece will be just over 1 for the wedding and my MOH's little one will be 1 and a half. We are going to play it by ear, if they are walking, FMIL will walk them both down the aisle, if not they will be carried (their moms are both in the bridal party)

I've seen weddings where they have multiple flower girls/ring bearers and the older one pulls the younger one in a wagon

I had friends who had their son who was a baby as their ring barer. They put him in a wagon that they decorated with flowers and a sign and they had her sister pull him down the aisle. It was cute and something to consider. Maybe the girl's mom could be the one to pull her down the aisle.

My best friend had an older flower girl pull a younger flower girl in a little wagon that they dressed up. It went fine at the rehearsal but the baby was really fussy on the day of. They ended up ditching the wagon and just having the older flower girl walk alone when it came to it to avoid a screaming baby coming down the aisle.

Maybe have her mother pull her down in a cute decorated wagon?

A co worker of mine and his wife did this. A friend of theirs asked them to walk their baby down the aisle as the flower baby, the baby ended up having a diaper blowout as soon as they reached the front of the aisle, they couldn't see it, but they could smell it. Not saying don't do it... but just consider the possible outcomes...

I've not read all the replies, but I saw the cutest idea for a baby flowergirl. Find an antique pram, or baby carriage, of wicker, decorate it if you want and have her sitting up against pillows in a beautiful little dress. She'll be a hit, in my opinion.
