Florist Stopped Communicating

Mm126, on May 3, 2021 at 9:06 AM Posted in Planning 0 4
Hello,

So we’re about a month away from the wedding, and I’m not sure what to do at this point. I was supposed to have a 60-day meeting with the florist, but that kept getting pushed back. We were supposed to have a call last week, but she did not answer the phone and has been unresponsive to my emails.
I looked at the contract, and payment was due 60 days before the wedding. So, I messed up there, but we didn’t even get a chance to go over the final bill on the 60 day mark! With that, it seems like it would be unfair for her to terminate the contract, especially without even telling me of her intentions to do so?
Maybe I’m over thinking, but I am getting really concerned, and I’ve sent her several emails, and am thinking about giving her a call if I don’t hear back this afternoon. There’s no way we can get a new florist 30 days before the wedding, so I have no idea what to do.

Are you able to stop into the florist's shop to meet with her? That's really strange that she just stopped communicating. Even if it was because you didn't make your final payment by the deadline, you'd think that the florist would at least send you an email to alert that that you missed the deadline. If you're able to stop in to their location, I would try doing that first to get some answers. Otherwise, maybe try reaching out through the company's social media pages too? Document all the times and methods that you tried to contact her. Hopefully you can get in contact with her soon! Also, maybe start searching for a new florist to see if anyone is available on short notice. You don't need to sign a new contract yet, but start getting a backup plan together just in case you can't get in contact with your current florist.

    Thank you, Lisa.

I think studio visits are by appointment only, but I can certainly try.
And it’s weird - she was in contact after the 60 Day Deadline, but then just stopped. I have no problem paying her the remainder of the bill, but if the design wasn’t finalized/approved yet... I’m just really confused about what happened. And I don’t think it’s fair for her to just leave me hanging, especially when it’s so close to the wedding.

I'd try to stop in if you can and meet with her face to face. I've learned from doing business with people that some businesses are bad at communicating through text/emails/calls. Some of them you have to go right to their business. Also did you ever think about going to like a Costco or supermarket with a florist shop and trying to throw something together. Also I know you want flowers but you don't always have to have flowers some people decorate and have bouquet made of other items that relate to the theme of the wedding. I hope you are just overthinking and everything works out. But in case they don't I'd start researching how to replace the flowers.

Document the times you tried to contact her. If meeting in person is not an option, contact the consumer reports department at the local news station.
