Florist problems

E, on August 16, 2013 at 12:36 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

My next florist deposit is september 9. I emailed him July 11 to ask when he needed more details nailed down and when he wanted me to drop off swatches. No response. I called the store and his assistant answered and stated that he will call or email if he needs anything and that she would tell him. Well, I just want him to be responsive!! Now August 16th, still NO word from him or anyone at the shop. Am I being screwed here? I don't want to be annoying and keep emailing/calling, but come on. Just acknowledge my email at least. He is high end and we are paying a lot of money for these flowers!! Which I am already regretting. What do you guys think?

I would just make an appointment to see him September 9 to discuss the details. It is high wedding season, but it doesn't mean he shouldn't have the courtesy to reply back to you.

Yeah that is a good idea. Thanks! Then he has to see me. But yes, just a short response would have been enough to keep me calm.

I agree with OTW- I barely starting getting back in contact with my vendors. I went for months. Example- booked my florist in May, we went back and forth on what I want and prices. I liked her and her work, so I put down the deposit. I touched base with her again in June just to let her know my colors have changed. She revised our contract. Then I hired my wedding planner and she set up our appointment for this past Tuesday, August 12th. So, I say just wait it out. Plus, it gives you more time to figure out what you want. If I was in contact the whole time with my florist I would have driven her crazy. My whole floral decor is sooooo different then what I had imagined when I first hired her. You may be surprised how fast your taste changes.
